Influence of secondary on linear induction motor performance

To study the influence of secondary on liner induction motor performance,by using finite-element method(FEM),the electromagnetic calculation model of the motor is established,and the starting and operating process have been studied by FEM.The magnetic field distribution of this motor is obtained based on the numerical calculation,and the density of the air gap magnetic field is analyzed to harmonic element,then the change tendency of them is obtained,which is along with the secondary becoming thinner.The air gap magnet is enhanced and the harmonic components get smaller.Meanwhile,keeping the same electromagnetic air-gap,effects of secondary thickness and material variation on the force of this motor are analyzed,which is along with the secondary thickness and conductivity gets smaller,the starting thrust getting smaller.Results of calculations are compared with experimental results derived from a prototype motor and the correctness of the calculation model and calculation results are verified.
