An Experimental Study on Electrohydrodynamically Enhanced Heat Transfer in a Dielectric Liquid

In this paper,the phenomena of electrohydrodynamically enhanced heat tiansfer in adieleetric liquid were studied by using an electrohydrodynamic (EHD) heat pipe model.Ex-perimental results show that the gencrally poor heat-transfer propertica of the dielectricworking liquids can be improved with the incmse of applied DC voltage.And this effect isparticularly obvious when the pipe is tilted up (the evapomtor elevation above the conden-ser).This method of electrohydrodynamically augmented heat transfer may be utilized inthe field of cooling and lieat-thensfer engineering.
