Research on Hyperspectral Imagery Loss Compression Method Based on Low Probability Detection

With the volume of hyperspectral imagery increasing rapidly,the demand of large compression rate becomes urgent.But the current methods generally can not meet the need of retaining the important information.The paper presented a loss compression method of combing segmentation and anomaly detection.Imagery was segmented by space clustering and the background spectrums involved in lager blocks were abstracted.Anomalies were detected by low probability detection(LPD).Background spectrums and anomalies pixels were compressed with the lossless compression method with the important and principal information preserved.The loss compression method was used for whole dataset to increase compression ratio.The experiment on the AVIRIS data shows that compression ratio is increased greatly and important information mainly is preserved.
