Characteristic Analysis on Cavity Form for a High Speed Projectile with Small Attack Angle

With the frame of flow simulation software Fluent 6.0,cavitating flow at zero angel of attack around underwater high speed projectile was investigated by numerical simulation based on 2D solver and numerical simulation results fit well with the results of the underwater range test.According to the model,simulation of the cavitating flow at non-zero angle of attack was investigated with a 3D solver.The effect on small angle of attack for cavity form around underwater high speed projectile was analyzed.This research offers theoretical reference for the study of hydrodynamics and ballistic performance of underwater projectile.
