Study of Complex Cavities with Gradual Transitions

Based on mode coupling theory, the general equations for the axial rf standing-wave amplitudes in a complex cavity with gradual transitions are deduced,and for the first time the TM type spurious modes are taken into account.Calculations are carried out foe 8 mm gradual complex cavities with TE61/The62 mode pair and various sizes. A contrast is made between the results and those of the previous method,Which neglected the TM spurious modes.
