EFFECT OF THE SEA-TIDE LOAD ALONG THE COAST OF CHINA ON EARTH TILT TIDE OBSERVATIONS

During the past more then 20 years, many studies on the problem of tidal loading of the earth have been carried out both in theoretically and experimentally,because it is believed that they are improtant for the retrieval of the structural parameters in the crust and upper mantle. In present paper, studies of the effect of shallow sea-tide load along the coast of China on earth tilt tide observations, by use of numerical integration techniques, are systematically made.The correction values of the tilt earth tide(M_2, S_2, O_1 and K_1 waves)of 22 stations which are obtained from different shallow sea area are provided in detail. The geographical distribution features of tilt loading in the mainland of China are also briefly analysed. The results show that the effect of the tidal loading is existed in the continent of China and eontroled by shallow sea-tide lode near the station. Therefore, in all observations of the tilt tide, ocean loading tides influence along the coast of China must be taken into account and,in the meantime, results from table 1-7 provided by this paper can be directly used to do correction of the observations. These results are also applicable to research geophycial problems and helpful for improving the accuracy of the tilt observations data.
