STUDY ON FINITE ELEMENT MODEL OF STRONG EARTHQUAKE ACTIVITIES BASED ON INTERACTION BETWEEN FAULTS

On the basis of interaction between faults,the finite element model for Southwest China is established,and the stress adjustment due to the strong earthquake occurrence in this region is studied.The preliminary results show that many strong earthquakes occurs in the area where stress is on the increase.Consequantly,the finite element model is very useful for determining the future risk region of strong earthquakes.
