MARGIN TEARING:A MECHANISM CAUSING FRACTURE AND EARTHQUAKE

A mechanism,called as margin tearing,causing fracture and earthquake while two plates or blocks act on each other is put forward in this paper.Taking the Honghe fault in Yunnan province,China and the San Andereas fault in California,United States as examples,the margin tearing courses of the blocks on both sides of the two faults are described.
