RECENT CRUSTAL VERTICAL MOVEMENT AND FAULT ACTIVITY OF FUJIAN PROVINCE

Using two period precise leveling data in 1972 in Fujian province, the characters of the recent crustal vertical movement of Fujian province are studied by the velocity surface fitting method, and the geophysical meaning of the vertical movement are discussed by combining the local geological structure with earthquake activities. The analysis results indicate that the Neocathaysian tectonic belt in the area is the important field of the strong earthquake activity, but the specific location of which is restricted to the secondary westeast、westnorth or ring structure which are converged to the Neocathaysian structure. The obvious difference of crustal vertical movement exists in the conjoint zone of the main tectonic block. The area where the differential mobility is strong identifies with the area where the seismicity exist. The earthquakes often occur in the region of the great velocity change of the crustal vertical movement or near its sea area.
