Present stress field and fracture characteristics of marine carbonate reservoir in Northeast Sichuan

Puguang,Yuanba and Tongnanba Areas in Northeast Sichuan are three most important exploration targets of marine carbonate reservoir,which underwent the superimposition and reformation of multiphase tectonic movement and the fractures were developed to some extent.The study of present stress field and fracture characteristics has an important significance for rolling exploration and development.The vertical and horizontal stresses are separately calculated by the use of density logging curves and fracturing data in this paper.The direction of maximum horizontal principal stress and fracture strike are determined by the use of imaging logging and diplog.The study shows that there are differences for the ground stress of different areas.The stress is mainly the type Ⅲ in Tongnanba and Yuanba Areas,type Ⅲ above 5,500 m and type I below 5,500 m in Puguang Area.The direction of present maximum principal horizontal stress is consistent with the fracture strike,which has the secondary reformation action for natural fracture and is beneficial to keeping the opening of natural fracture and keeping high flow conductivity.
