Synthetical Analysis of Var Optimization Methods of Electric Power System

Var optimization is core problem of voltage stability and economic operation of electric power system, also important measure to improve voltage quality. This paper introduces briefly the classical arithmetic: Grades, Newtons,Sequential Quadratric, Programmings,and Linearity Programings Agorithm. It analyzes particularly the application of Artifical Intelligence methods, compares the basic thoughtfulness of GA,SA,Tabu,TS,ES,ANN and Dynamic Programming,etc. The paper takes reasonable conclusion finally: GA and their combination method will play a more important role in appliance region of var optimization and controlling.
