Application of AHP in Quantitative Evaluation on the Tourist Resources of Meizhou City

The landscape qualities of major scenic regions (spots) in Meizhou city are evaluated comprehensively by the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and are classified into four grades. Along with the needs of the strategic planning of tourism development, the resource level and the development level are first introduced and used to make the present situation map for the development and utilization of regional tourist resources. That extends the utilization of the traditional AHP in the quantitative evaluation of tourist resources. Moreover, the necessity and the basic measures for establishing the subject of cultural tourism in the strategic planning of Meizhou tourism are expounded by full use of the evaluation results. Finally, the author's viewpoints about the application of AHP in the evaluation of regional tourist resources are raised as well.
