Remote Sensing Image Rectification with Sparse Ground Control Points

A new method for high resolution remote sensing image rectification and geodetic location is proposed. At first, the available 1∶1 000 000 Maps of the world are used to rectify the lowest (15～30 meter) resolution remote sensed image. Based on that, a series of images with hierarchy structural resolutions have to be matched and registered one by one from lower to higher resolution. The difficulty of mathing within the highest and the lowest resolution images due to lack of corresponding features are overcome by the hierachy structural resolution images. Through this way, the highest resolution images are rectified and located.
