Research on Water Resources Carrying Capacity of Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone

The problem of water shortage is very serious in Liaoning coastal zone,when the development strategy of Liaoning coastal zone was determined to be the national strategy,the significance of water carrying capacity study become more and more obvious.In view of the higher-order,nonlinear and multi-feedback characteristics existed in the water resources carrying capacity system,a system dynamics model has been established for assessing water resources carrying capacity.Under four scenarios named the current situation of development type,economical dominant type,water-saving type and sustainable development type,the water resources carrying capacity of six cities located in Liaoning coastal zone was simulated from 2005 to 2020.The results showed that the type of sustainable development is the feasible scheme to improve water resources carrying capacity in Liaoning coastal zone,and these cities should focus on the development and utilization of non-conventional water resources in order to achieve water resources,socio-economic and ecological sustainable development.
