Generation of the two dimensional numerical wave tank based on the software FLUENT

To obtain the highly stable and repeated waves in wave tank,the volume of fluid(VOF) method was used to track the free surface based on the N-S equations and the standard k-ε turbulence model,and a two dimensional numerical wave tank (NWT) with functions of generating and absorbing wave was established by utilizing the commercial CFD software FLUENT.The wave-generating is achieved respectively by using the method moving boundary and the method defining velocity of water particle on the basis of linear theory of wave and the UDF function of the secondary development,meanwhile,the additive sources in the momentum equation were used to absorb waves at the end of wave tank.Results show that the proposed numerical wave tank based on software FLUENT is effective.
