Numerical study of linear and nonlinear waves based on two source wave generating models

Based on the Navier-Stokes equations for incompressible viscous fluid and VOF method,two source wave generating models which can effectively simulate linear and nonlinear waves are established on the platform of FLUENT software by utilizing the mass source wave making method,momentum source wave making and absorbing methods,and the results are compared with the linear and nonlinear analytical solutions.Results show that it is reasonable to simulate linear and nonlinear waves based on these two source wave generating models,and the momentum source wave absorbing method can dissipate the wave energy effectively.Meanwhile,the superiority-inferiority between the two source methods is compared,and results show that the momentum source wave making method is more susceptible to the nonlinear provided accordingly.
