Improvements of Genetic Algorithm in Power System Optimized Reactive Power Control

LIU Chang-jun(Southwest Jiaotong University,Chengdu 610031,China)  
Optimized reactive power control plays an important role in economic power transmission and operation.It tries to find a means of reactive power compensation that optimizes one or more system parameters under the constraints of power system operating conditions.When applied to power system reactive power optimization,genetic algorithm has advantages such as simple,robust and parallel computing ready.Through modifications in penalty function,selection,mutation,crossing and terminating condition,the convergence can be accelerated and better results are achieved.It has been validated by examples.
