Study of Bond-Slip Property between Steel Bars and the Concrete

Song Yupu, Zhao Guofan (The Research Section of Structure, DIT)  
In order to study the bond stress-slip relationship between steel bars and the concrete, the bond-slip test is conducted on R. C. Beams. The beamsare rein forced with new type of deformed bars or plain bars. These bars are instrument ed with strain gauge placed in a machined axial cavity. Based on the experimen- tal results, the stress-slip relationship at the steel-concrete interface has been der ived. This relationship. has taken account of the properties of the materials, the concrete cover, the crack spacing and the distance away from the cracked cross \ section on the bond stress-slip relationship.
