Estimation of the Incipient Cavitation Number for a Two-Dimensional Slot of Gate

Ni Hangen, He Zigan, Xu Fusheng (Department of Civil Engineering, DIT)  
The finite analytical method is employed to solve Reynolds equations and the results of the mean turbulent flow field near the two-dimensional slot of gate are given. The results show that pressure coefficients are not the same for different velocities in the entrance. According to bubble dynamics, different numbers and positions of cavitation incipience are got for different velocities in the entrance. The results of computations basically correspond with experiences.
