Study of characteristics of pulse corona discharge

The voltage and current property of pulse corona discharge system are analyzed theoretically in order to provide the gist for the practical use of pulse corona discharge system. The theoretical formulas of pulse discharge voltage, discharge current and pulse rise time are deduced. The circuit parameter, which affects pulse discharge property, is analyzed. The component parameters used in the practical circuit are confirmed by comparison of the wave forms in the theoretical calculation and the practical measure. Thus, high\|frequency pulse capacitor is adopted, which must be of low medium loss and low inductance. The pulse\|shaped capacitance should be greater than the static capacitance of the reactor. In the practical design, the pulse\|shaped capacitance is generally 3~5 times of the static capacitance.
