Control of oxidation and formation of non-equilibrium phase in Cu-Cr alloys during MA

Using the X ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) as well as differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and optical microscopy, the phase transformation of Cu Cr alloys with various compositions during mechanical alloying has been investigated. Besides the formation of super saturated solid solution, according to the results, a kind of amorphous oxide is formed and the addition of carbon has obvious effect on the control of oxidation and the reaction of oxide. The reactive milling would have the effect on the behavior of oxidation during the milling.
