Analysis of harmonic response of unconstrained damped plate based on randomness of viscoelastic damping layer

The analysis of the harmonic response of the unconstrained damped plate based on randomness of viscoelastic damping layer is studied using Monte Carlo method. The random variable is normal distribution in this analysis. The influences of real modulus and loss factor of viscoelastic material and thickness of damping layer on the amplitude and the phase of structural response are analyzed. Numerical examples show that the influence of randomness of damping layer is very notable at resonant frequency.
