Design and operation of system of SO 2 removal from flue gas by pulse corona discharge

Zhang Yanbin, Wang Ninghui, Wu Yan ( Dept. of Electromagnetic Eng., Dalian Univ. of Technol., China )  
On the basis of the fundamental research, an industrial pilot with the flow rate of 3 000 m 3/h has been conducted. The results of the design and operation of the system have been obtained. The results show that the removal efficiency of SO 2 is up to 75% 80% at the energy consumption rate of 5 W·h/m 3. It is also certain that the industrial application of this technology will be feasible.
