Numerical Simulation of 2-D Two Phase Flow in Mist Eliminator

Mist eliminator is one of the important equipments in WFGD system. Its performance is of great importance to the reliable operation of WFGD system. Based on the Reynolds Stress model and Lagrangian multiphase model, the 2-D two phase flow field in a channel of chevron mist eliminator is simulated using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) method. The simulation results include detailed velocity field and pressure field, the relation between the critical particle size of trapped droplets and flue gas velocity and so on, which may be helpful in the design and operation of mist eliminator.
