Analysis of Relevant Specifications for Dynamic Performance Index of Excitation System

This paper discusses the relevant specifications of IEC, IEEE standard, national and power industry standard for dynamic performance index of generator excitation system, and analyzes the differences of each standard. The duration, 0.2-0.3 s, for the ceiling voltage during hand over test is put forward; performance index for small disturbance stipulated by each standard is discussed. To adopt the step response index of generator as a measure for dynamic performance index of small disturbance of excitation control system is suggested in the paper.
