STUDY ON COMPLICATED MOTIONS OF ROLL ELEMENT BEARING-ROTOR SYSTEM WITH PEDESTAL LOOSENESS

According to the specific features of a non-linear rolling element bearing-rotor system with pedestal looseness at one support, this paper derived its dynamical equations by using the theories of Hertz theory,nonlinear dynamics and rotor dynamics, which took into account the nonlinear condition of the looseness. By means of the phase maps, the bifurcate maps, the Poincare maps, and the correlation dimension, after numerically simulating the dynamic equation, this paper illustrated the system's complex motions, which included the period doubling and chaotic motions, when the rotating speed increased and the clearance augmented. Moreover, this paper analyzed the bifurcation, chaotic motions and the laws of the system. The analysis provides some reference for diagnosing the fault of Pedestal looseness.
