SIMULATED EVOLUTIONARY APPROACHES TO COMPOSITE OPTIMIZATION IN POWER SYSTEMS

There exist a lot of composite optimization problems in power systems, which are difficult to be solved by usual methods. Simulated evolutionary algorithms have been shown to be effective for both continuous and discrete optimization problems. This paper presents two kinds of the simulated evolutionary approaches, i. e. continuity of discrete variable and discretization of continuous variable. The approaches are applied to composite optimization problems in power loss optimization of a power system. The result shows that the approaches are effective.
