Power m arket operator system (PMOS-2000) suited to the present Chinese conditions of deregurating only at generation side, is described. It com prises of eight subsystem s∶transaction m anagem ent subsystem (TMS), pre-dispatch subsystem (PRD), energy m anagem ent subsystem (EMS), tele-m eter reading subsystem (TMR), settlem ent and billing subsystem (SBS), contractm anagem entsystem (CMS), sam e-tim e inform ation subsystem (SIS), generation bidding system (GBS). According to the requirem ent of the National Pow er Corporation, the pow er m arket should be im plem ented by stages. Thus the construction ofthe technique supportsystem forpow erm arketw illalso be im plem ented by stages. Taking the direction ofthepow erm arketprogressand thedevelopm entofthecom putertechnology into account, theupgrading ofthe system and the requirem ent ofthe data storage capacity m ust be given fullconsideration in the process of designing system schem e and selecting the types ofhardw are.
