PV CURVE TRACING IN POWER SYSTEM TRANSFER CAPABILITY ANALYSIS

A m odified PV curve tracing method is proposed in this paper for the calculation of power transfer capability of large- scale systems. This m ethod can easily take into account the way of load changing in receiving areas and the mode of power dispatch am ong generators in sending areas.A local parameterization method is modified to trace the PV curve,which perfectly eliminates the illness of power flow equations near the power transfer limit.In addition,a sim ple method called constant step voltage decline is presented to im plem ent the auto- adaptive step length control. The effectiveness of this modified method is testified by a5 0 0 - bus exam ple system.
