This paper gives a method for congestion management in power market.It considers the m inimal purchase cost increm ent as objective function and restrictive conditions.The nonlinear interior point algorithm of optim al power flow is employed to control the congestion in power m arket.Furtherm ore,the method can solve the differential question of step bidding curves,and obtain the optim al dispatching schedule which satisfies the economics and security of power system .The examples indicate that the m ethod is right and feasible.
