COMPREHENSIVE STUDY ON EQUIPMENT RELIABILITY AND FAULT DIAGNOSIS

The equipment m odel with two kinds of faults is studied to obtain the reliability indices,the optim al critical param eters of diagnosis and the optim al checking cycle.It was assum ed that it can occur the first type of fault imm ediately when in normal modes or the second one of faultafter abnormal m odes. Moreover,the equipm ent was no need to be checked while breaking down but was merely by checking to make sure whether itwas in order or notwhile operating.Sometim es the checking results may be wrong. This paper gives the reliability indices,the optim al critical values and the checking cycle, which make the expected profits per unit time generated by the equipm ent in steady state be maximum,by using probability analysis,the supplementary variable technique and an optimization method. In particular,results of numerical exam ples indicate the feasibility of the proposed m ethod.
