OPTIMAL POWER FLOW ALGORITHM BASED ON CHAOSOPTIMIZATION AND BFGSMETHOD

In this paper a new hybrid optimization algorithm,which com bines chaos optim ization algorithm and BFGS Broyden- Fletcher- Goldfarb- Shanno method,is proposed for handling the optimal power flow OPF problem .By use of the properties of intrinsic ergodicity,randomness,and regularity of chaos,the chaos optim ization algorithm can escape from the local m inim a and approach the global m inima.To im prove the rate of convergence and accuracy,BFGS m ethod is used to perform the local search in the neighborhood of the global minim a.The num erical results from IEEE 14 ,30 and 5 7bus test system s illustrate the validity of the proposed algorithm .
