APPLICATION OF PARALLEL GENETIC ALGORITHMS TO ECONOMIC DISPATCH ──Effects of Migration Strategy on Algorithms' Performances

This paper investigates the effects of the control parameters of migration strategy in parallel genetic algorithms on algorithms' performances, based on the economic dispatch problems. Those parameters include the number of subpopulations, migration frequency, migration rates, migration selection strategies and the communication styles, etc. The conclusions are general and it is desired to provide guidance for developing successful EAs' applications.
