MEASUREMENT METHOD OF VOLTAGE SAG BY WAVELET TRANSFORM AND RMS METHOD

With the wide application of sensitive electrical appliances, voltage sag has become the focus of attention of all respects in recent years. The measurement indices of voltage sag include amplitude, time duration, frequency, distortion degree and etc, and the precise measure of amplitude and time duration is the primary problem to solve of real time monitoring of voltage sag. The application of the principle of singularity detection using wavelet transform modulus maximum in voltage sag detection is studied in detail. A new detection method of voltage sag combining wavelet transform and RMS algorithm is proposed, which overcomes the disadvantages that time duration cannot be precisely measured with RMS algorithm. The results of simulation calculations verify the validity of the method.
