Readjusting Cost of Dynamic Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch of Power Systems

A mathematical model of readjusting cost of control devices is presented and its effects on dynamic optimal reactivepower dispatch(ORPD)for power systems are studied.Since the operation of reactive power dispatch will increase theinvestment of relative devices and maintenance loads and augment the fault probability of power systems,it is not felicitous thatjust minimizing the power loss without taking the readjusting costs into account in the objective function of ORPD.Results of asimulation test demonstrate that the introduction of readjusting costs of control devices to the objective function of optimalreactive power dispatch can keep a balance between cutting of the power losses and reducing of the operation times.Theproposed model is reasonable since it can avoid excessive readjustment of control devices in the reactive power dispatch.
