Volt/VAR Optimization Considering Integrated Operation Economy of Distribution System and Equipment

In order to avoid the equipment operated frequently and too much equipment adjusted in voltage-reactive power optimization control, a new method considering power loss, equipment operated cost and the number of operated equipment in distribution network is proposed. Before the whole dispatching period, the pre-optimization is made for each time period separately, using the result of load forecasting. In real-time control, the optimal objective is a multi-objective manner, made up of sensitivity, equipment operated cost and times. The inertia factors are introduced when equipment are adjusted too frequently, to avoid excessive equipment operated times, as well as distribute equipment operation rationally to each time slice of a dispatching period. The system voltage, power loss, equipment endurance and operated times could be comprehensively optimized consequently. The genetic algorithm (GA) is introduced and improved as the optimal algorithm, and the sensitivity, different length of binary coding and dynamic searching population are used to ensure optimization quality and accelerate the searching course. The practice results show that the method is effective, practicable and real-time to solve the problem of operated times and numbers for volt-reactive power optimization and obtain the compositive economy of system operation and equipment control.
