Grid Connection Control Strategy of AC-excited Variable-speed Constant-frequency Wind Power Generator

With the increasing capacity of wind power generators, the current impact on grid connection could not be ignored, thus the grid connection techniques should be investigated in depth. In terms of existing grid-connection techniques of wind power generator, the characteristics of "flexible connection" between AC-excited VSCF (variable-speed constant-frequency) wind power generator and grid are analyzed to make generator output voltage meet grid-connection condition by excitation control. By transplanting flux-oriented vector control technique into grid connection control, the strategy of AC-excited VSCF wind power generator is developed. In addition, the experimental research is also conducted. This work is supported by National High Technology Research and Development Program (863 Program) of China (No. 2001AA51202.3).
