Yu Jilai, Liu Zhuo(Harbin Institute of Technology)  
Based on the analyses of series compensation, shunt compensation, phase shifter and unifiedpower flow controller, this paper presents a novel concept of a generalized power flow controller (GPFC) .By using this concept, the unified method for these power flow control means is analysed. This method canconsider various power flow control means with a unified mathematical model and a unified data format.Examples of test system show that the method is flexible. It provides an effective tool for the analyses ofvarious power flow control means.
