PERFORMANCE AND DIGITAL REALIZATION OF TRANSFORMER DIFFERENTIAL RELAY BASED ON DEAD ANGLE PHILOSOPHY

This paper compares the performance of inrush current checking based on dead angle philosophy with that based on second harmonic restraint. The better performances of inrush checking based on dead angles philosophy are discussed.Emphasis is put on the key technology for realizing the microcomputer based dead angles restraint transformer differential relay. The dynamic model tests and field operations of this digital protective relay are also given.
