AN OVERVIEW ON POWER SYSTEM FREQUENCY MEASUREMENT

The recent achievements in the field of power system frequency measurement are summarisedin this paper. Firstly, the various definitions of power system frequency are described on the basisof signal observation model. Secondly, some basis requirements of frequency measurement are put forwardin the light of application purpose. Then comes the classification and assessment of the multifarious frequency estimation algorithms. The hardware realization and test are also touched on. In conclusion,the trend of power system frequency measurement is naturally educed.
