He Zhengyou Dai Xiaowen Qian Qingquan (Inst.of Electrification and Automation,Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, 610031)  
The success application of wavelet transform in electric power system show the application foreground.As a important embranchment,the power system transient signals need to be studied and probed further.So,object to application based on the idea:sampling,base option mother wavelet construction,post processing,this paper present a general study of transient signals processing method using wavelet transform,the basis of fault diagnosis as well as the foundation of new transient protection theory are established.
