Study on Transition Process of Soft Cut-in of Wind Turbines System

Soft cut-in technology is the key technology for wind turbine asynchronous generators connecting to power grid.The paper analyzes the transition process of soft cut-in of wind turbines.And the principle of soft cut-in system using thyristor is analyzed while its simulation platform is obtained with Matlab/Simulink.A single close loop PI control scheme is developed with which the cut-in current can be limited in 1.25-2 times of rated current.The proposed control scheme has advantages in guiding the software and hardware design,and its validity is proved by the simulation results.
