Applications of Petri Nets in Power Systems

The fundamental theory of the Petri net and its applications in power systems are introduced in this paper.Through analyzing and comparing many published papers associated with Petri net applications,a concise and systematic survey is made from several specific areas involved,including fault diagnosis,power system restoration,distribution network reconfiguration,unit commitment,power network topology analysis,reliability analysis,protective relay modeling and hybrid power systems.From this review,it is clear that much research work has been done on the application of the Petri net in solving many problems in power system.
