New Model Optimized by Genetic Algorithm for Distribution Substation Locating and Sizing

Distribution substation locating and sizing is a large-scale combination optimization problem,in order to solve the problem,this paper presents a new model of distribution substation locating and sizing.This proposed model includes electrical constraints such as substation capacities,the distance between the substation and the load,and supply radius,and so on.The objective function not only includes substation install cost,running cost and network loss cost,but also introduces a new member—the transformer loss cost.The genetic operators,which are roulette wheel selection operator,two-point crossover operator and two-point mutation operator,are used in genetic algorithm.A practical example is solved successfully by the proposed genetic algorithm.The simulation results validate the correctness and effectiveness of the developed model.
