Mathematical Model Building and Short-circuit Fault Calculation of New Converter Transformer

Model building and short-circuit faults calculation in the new converter transformer are the basis of research on its operating characteristics,relay protection and design of automatic device.A mathematic model of the electrical system containing the new converter transformer was proposed in the paper,and the electric network is divided into two parts:mutual and non-mutual inductance branches.The node admittance matrixes of two parts are built separately and then the mathematic model of whole electric network is obtained with adding both matrixes.Based on the established model,the polymorphic phase components method is used to study and calculate all kinds of nodal short-circuit faults of the new converter transformer.Experimental results verified the correction of the proposed mathematical model and short-circuit fault calculation.
