Design of a Protection Scheme for the New Converter Transformer

If the industrialization of the new converter transformer needed to be realized,a protection scheme suitable for the new converter transformer should be designed in advance.A protection scheme based on the transformer model is studied,and applied to the protection scheme design for the new converter transformer,and then,the criterion is obtained by applying the trapezoidal integration to the action equations.Simulation results have proved the correctness of protection scheme designed by this paper,which can distinguish the normal conditions and internal fault of the new converter transformer rapidly and reliably,and effectively reduce the errors caused by the use of difference instead of differential.The proposed method can be used as microcomputer based main protection for the new converter transformer.
