Study of the MOS Method Based on Linear Regression for Wind Power Prediction

The forecasting precision of the output power of wind farm has the direct bearing on the power balance and economic dispatching of the power system.In order to improve the forecasting accuracy of the wind power,the problem of the error analysis for wind power prediction based on model output statistics(MOS)is discussed in this paper.Since the MOS method can update the forecasting deviation automatically,the paper proposes an error correction method for wind power prediction based on linear regression.The off-line experiment with practical history data of wind farm shows that the proposed method has the properties of simple principle,good applicability and high forecasting accuracy,which It has good practical values for engineering application
