Characteristic analysis and realization of SST operating in P-Q mode

The operation of SST (Solid State Transformer) used in FREEDM(Future Renewable Electric Energy Delivery and Management) network is classified into VS mode and P-Q mode.The configuration principles and operational specifications of SST are proposed according to the operational requirements of FREEDM.The output current feedforward control is applied in the input stage to smooth the DC voltage of SST and the filter inductor current feedback control in output stage to improve the ability against load disturbance.The designed SST stabilizes the DC and AC voltages and maintains the operation with unity power factor at grid-side in different operating conditions,including power factor variation,load step change and distributed generator switchover.The voltage and current of different levels have good dynamic response and the designed SST is robust against the load disturbances,meeting the integral performance requirements of FREEDM network for SST in P-Q mode.
