Deformation and cracks on new compound structure under low-cycle and repeated load

Experiment on new compound structure composed of reinforced concrete small beam and column and chevron "∧" braces under low-cycle and repeated load were analyzed.1∶2 scale model was adopted in the test.The loading process was designed based on code,calculating crack load,yield load and different grade of earthquake actions.The stiffness and cracks on the compound structure were analyzed.The experimental results show that for the compound structure cracking first occurs at the braces sections and then beam and columns sections.The compound structure satisfies serviceability limit state under 9 degree small earthquake action.The concept of synthetically cycle stiffness is introduced. The curve of stiffness reducing is drawn and the rules of reduction of stiffness and strength are studied.
