Fountainhead and uniqueness of RF fingerprint

A basic radio frequency fingerprint(RFF)recognition system model used to classify wireless transmitters is constructed.The fountainhead of RFF is analyzed,and the tolerances factors originating RFF is regarded to be electric components,the route of printed circuit board(PCB),the inside route of integrated circuit(IC),and so on.According to the basic RFF recognition(RFFR) system model,a hardware model is constructed with 802.11b wireless network cards.And it is revealed that the RFFs even in the same series of wireless network cards are different.Besides,a mathematical model based on the fountainhead of RFF is constructed,and the potential uniqueness of RFF is theoretically validated.This uniqueness is related to the tolerance property of transmitter and the discriminability of RFFR.It is demonstrated that RFF can be used for recognizing wireless transmitters.
